Enable AdBlock with Google Chrome

Google Chrome is an excellent web browser, but until recently was lacking in the extensions department. Here are quick and simple instructions for using AdBlock with the latest version of Chrome for Windows, Mac or Linux:

  1. Download and install the latest development version of Google Chrome.
  2. Launch Chrome and open the experimental AdBlock+ extension (more information on this forum).
  3. Click “Add to Chrome” and press “Continue” when prompted by the warning message:

  4. Go to chrome://extensions/ click Options:
  5. Select “EasyList (USA)”
  6. Click “Subscribe” and check “convert and use blocking rules”
  7. The “Global filters:” box should populate with rules, as below

At this point, the AdBlock+ extension should be working. Head over to your favorite previously ad-laden site to verify it is functioning correctly.
